There are several post-graduate training programs for Japanese certified Hand Therapy. These programs are open to Occupational and Physical Therapists wishing to specialize in Hand Therapy. The program is taught in Japanese and consists of four modules (field and clinical, research, education practice) and self-study assignments. In field practice, there are basic and advance lecture; Including EBM, ICF, Assessment, Splinting, Treatment modalities, Observation of surgical interventions. After having passed an examination, a qualification of Japanese certified Hand Therapist is given. Furthermore, it is necessary to update this qualification every five years.
